Alabama Teacher Recruitment Incentive Program (ATRIP)

Application Procedures
Please forward applications to the financial aid office at your institution of choice. Do not send applications to the Alabama Commission on Higher Education or the Alabama State Department of Education.
- Undergraduate Applicants - All pertinent documents must be received by the student’s institution of choice by March 31, 2008.
- Alternative Class A Certificate Applicants - All pertinent documents must be received by the student’s institution of choice by June 1, 2008.
- In order to be considered for this program, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed by all applicants by March 31, 2008.
- The documents are formatted for legal size paper (8.5 X 14). Each contract has three sections, a student specific data section, a “Statement of Intent and Certification” section, and a section entitled “INSTITUTIONAL USE ONLY.” Please make sure that you have included all three sections in your submittal. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- In order to fully understand the terms of this contract, do not sign and forward the contract until you have read the ATRIP Information Sheet located at the bottom of this page.

If you are under 19 years of age, a parent or guardian must co-sign your application.
- Students applying for the Alternative Class A Certificate Progran must have been unconditionally admitted to the program.
- Prior to forwarding the contract to your institution of choice, make sure you keep a copy for your records.
- Once you have completed your sections of the contract (the first two sections), please forward your documents to the Director of Student Financial Aid at your institution of choice. You can find the contact information for each of the financial aid officers at the various institutions at this website: http://www.alstudentaid.com/students_colleges.html

- Once submitted, the institution will certify the contract and verify your enrollment. Once the contract is complete, the institution will forward it to the Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE).
- Once the original contract is received by ACHE, a signed copy of the fully executed contract will be sent to you.
IMPORTANT:
· Remember, a violation of this contract will put you into a repayment cycle at 8% interest.
· You will need to reapply annually, so make sure you make satisfactory academic progress and maintain financial need.
